DANCING DOES

For Saturday only, in the Main Ring, you will be entertained by the Famous Dancing Does. The team will impress you with their routine - so don't miss it at 11.30am or 1.45pm.
The doe triple D or doe dual drive was designed to solve the problem of there not being many high horsepower tractors available.

Two skid units were joined together to give the machine high horsepower, it also had the ability to turn at 90 degrees and run on only one engine if necessary. It was not sold only in the uk, many were exported. It was originally based on two fordson major units and was up rated with the launch of the super major. There were many variations of the basic design and when newer ford 6x skid units and ford forces units were employed, they were named the doe 130 and doe 150.

SHEEP SHOW (Countryside Area)

The Sheep Show is a fun and educational look at different breeds of sheep with the emphasis on wool. The show is now more popular than ever - appearing at over 40 venues during the year 2000 in front of an estimated audience of 1.6 million people!

Each show lasts around 30 minutes and several shows are performed during the day from the Sheep Show's own self-contained 40ft stage trailer, complete with sound and lighting - all that is required is an enthusiastic audience!

TRENT VALLEY PRESERVATION SOCIETY
The Travelling Farm and bygones Museum is what we are often referred to and we are no strangers to most of you. We meet on a monthly basis in Collingham Memorial Hall enjoying guest speakers and demonstrations covering a varied range of topics. During the summer months we are busy travelling and exhibiting at numerous shows, fetes and ploughing matches sometimes as far a field as Scotland.

The Society was formed in 1970 by a small group of enthusiastic collectors preserving and sometimes restoring equipment to display. We also have a well preserved ex Land Army Girl, founder member, who never misses a meeting.

Our Exhibition is situated near the Cedric Ford Pavilion and should you be interested or have bygones yourself new members are most welcome. We encourage children if accompanied with an adult to join too. No collection is too small. “We of the present preserve the past for the future”
