Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show

One of the best ever!

The Newark Vintage Tractor and Heritage Show celebrated its 10th Anniversary in 2012!

This was one of the best Newark Vintage Tractor & Heritage Shows that we have held. With over 1,000 entries, and blessed with great weather, this record entry was enjoyed by 16,850 attendees, an increase of 7% on last year. The range of attractions was complimented by additional traders; craft stalls, cookery demonstrations, art displays and extra catering outlets. Apart from a minor traffic hold-up on-site right at the end (which cleared quickly), the show was an undoubted success for those who took part and visited.

The unique Living History of the British Isles drew many people and we are indebted to all who helped us in this super section. Of course, we cannot run any show without volunteer stewards, judges and a whole host of other unpaid helpers. Our sponsors have been magnificent and we are also most grateful to them.

May we thank you all for your support over the last 10 years. With your help and support, we aim to carry on expanding the appeal of the show well into the next decade.

Here are a few of the comments we have received. Please keep them coming!

“Thank you for the great weekend. This is a true show that caters for everyone. The standard of exhibits was outstanding along with the organisation and friendly staff. It is over ten years since I last attended the Newark Tractor show but we will be back next year! It offers a good mix for couples to enjoy; when our wives and partners want to take a break from the machinery there is plenty for them to do, whether it be the trade stands, demonstrations or crafts. We attend many fairs over the year, including The Great Dorset Steam Fair and the Newark event is equal to all in quality, organization and caravan  camping area, with a great atmosphere. Once again, many thanks and well done! See you next year!”
- Andy Stephenson and Liz,  Co Durham

“The Vintage Tractor Show was a roaring success for me! Can I book the same pitch for next year please?”
- Peter, Classic Dynamo and Regulator Conversions, Lincoln, trade stand

“Fantastic show last weekend. We traveled from Ireland. As chairman of our local vintage and heritage club,I was astounded at how well your team handled such a large event which must be the best organized show of its kind in the UK - or probably Europe for that matter. For particular mention would be: parking, exhibitors and public, excellent catering and the high quality of trade exhibitors and spare parts suppliers. Looking forward to next year. Many thanks for a great event.”
- Dermot Ennis, All Parts, Ireland, trade stand

“My wife and I took our 18 month old grandson yesterday and had a most enjoyable day out at the show. The weather was even better than last year and the event was even better too for this, our second visit. Many people may not be aware of what a great day out is in store, but their loss was our gain. We are already contemplating coming with our son and daughter for a family day out next year, along with the grandson who will be able to enjoy it more too.

We still cannot appreciate the sheer numbers of enthusiasts that give up their time to turn up at the show along with the huge array and wonderful variety of exhibits. It was also quite poignant to have the Remembrance Day service and two minute's silence, when the whole showground went silent for the duration and to know that so many people have such respect for the tribute. Praise must go to the organisation and enthusiasm of all contributors.”
- Mr & Mrs Richard Hall, Nottingham

"As a first time trader at this show I was very impressed and will certainly return next year if it falls on the same weekend."
 - Steve Oliver, trade stand

“My husband and I would just like to congratulate you all on a first class show. We have just spent a fabulous weekend at the Vintage Tractor & Heritage Show at Newark Showground and we both felt that we must let you know how much we enjoyed it. This was our third show but each year you have made it more attractive and interesting, even down to the carvery and entertainment on Saturday evening. We hope to see you all again next year.”
- Michele & Philip Partridge

“I hope you have recovered from a fantastic weekend at the Tractor Show! We had a fantastic day at the Show yesterday, with a couple of friends. The weather was lovely and we thoroughly enjoyed looking at all the exhibits and around the trade stands. All agreed that lunch in the Cedric Ford Pavilion was very tasty and good value for money. Many thanks once again.”
- Lindsay Popplewell

“Just to let you know we had a fabulous time at the VTS yesterday. There was soooo much to see and do my legs ached at the end of the day. It was not only us but everybody who I heard talking about it said the same and there was a really great atmosphere, so thanks for providing another great family day out. Also, I would just like to mention how lovely the minute’s silence for Remembrance was. It was very moving to hear silence fall across the entire showground.

The highlight for my girls was the fuschia Pink Ferguson and, of course, the ponies - Paddington the miniature Shetland being my favourite!!! From a spectators point of view everything seemed very well organised, so thanks again.”
- Liz Taylor, Coddington

“My wife and I came up and stayed with friends this year and had a most enjoyable weekend at the show. I think it was probably the best weekend of the year, weather wise, and certainly one of the most interesting Heritage shows put on throughout the country.”
- JB ‘Sonny’ Smith, Shrewsbury

"Just a quick note to say well done on the show - was very good for us. Should be back next year."
- Will Ganly, C & G Cabs, trade stand, Ireland
