Education Liaison Officer (part-time)
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Newark & Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society for a part-time Education Liaison Officer. This is a new role and the post-holder will be part of the Show Team, based in the Showground Office at Newark Showground.
Reporting to the CEO, the primary objective of the Education Liaison Officer role is to promote the importance of agriculture to local schools by introducing them to the benefits of attending and participating in the Nottinghamshire County Show. It is hoped that this new initiative will also result in an increase in the number of school-age children and their parents visiting the show. The two-day Nottinghamshire County Show is held annually over a weekend in early May at Newark Showground and is the first agricultural show of the season.
You must be well-educated and computer literate, proactive and able to prioritise your own workload. You will have the skills to initiate enjoyable and educational displays and competitions at the Show. Whilst you must be passionate about education and agriculture, you will not necessarily be a qualified educator but you must be eager to engage with schoolchildren to ‘grab their attention’.
DBS clearance is a pre-requisite of this post.
Hours will normally be 20 per week, Monday to Friday, to be agreed with the CEO, but flexibility to increase hours, as required, would be expected. The role would include some weekends and occasional evening meetings. Salary is £20,000 pro-rata and benefits also include a work-place pension, medical expenses cashback scheme (after a qualifying period), 24 days’ holiday pro-rata and Bank Holidays.
The closing date for applications has been extended to 28 February 2017. Please email your CV to firstname.lastname@example.org
