SALUTE THE SOLDIERS

Newark Showground is proud to host the WELCOME HOME LUNCH for the county’s own Regiment, 2ND BATTALION MERCIAN REGIMENT (WORCESTERS AND FORESTERS) on
 TUESDAY 16 MARCH 2010.  This is an opportunity for the good folk of Newark On Trent to show their support for our troops who serve in some of the most
dangerous parts of the world.   It is being organised in partnership with the
Newark Advertiser and Newark Town Council.

After marching from Riverside Park to arrive in the Market Square at 11.00am,
the troops will travel to Newark Showground where they will be welcomed
with a glass of beer and a traditional roast beef lunch.  There are a limited number of tickets being sold to members of the public who would like the opportunity to meet some of these heroes and enjoy a three course lunch, cooked fresh on the premises
at the Cedric Ford Pavilion using local produce kindly donated by generous sponsors.

Tickets are £25 each and can be bought from Newark Showground
by post or over the telephone.  Cheques to be made payable to NNAS. 
All profits from the lunch to be given to the Regiment’s fund.
