Newark Showground Facilities
With 84 acres set inside a secure fence, the Newark Showground offers a perfect venue for all events. A further 60 acres are available for parking of traders, exhibitors and public as well as other uses including camping, and to hire for events in their own right.
The Showground is a flat site with six acres of buildings, four horse rings - three with a collecting ring - plus three warm-up rings and a further six small animal rings. The soil is a free-draining sand over gravel, which remains serviceable when many other local and regional facilities have long closed. There is site-wide Wi-fi, CCTV and floodlights around most of the site, including the runways.
The newest building, the George Stephenson Exhibition Hall was completed in April 2005 and is the largest purpose-built exhibition space in Nottinghamshire, offering 3,000sqm of covered exhibition space.
In 2016, The Lady Eastwood Centre was completely rebuilt and upgraded to provide what is effectively a brand new 1,400sqm hall with additional meeting rooms for exhibitions, conferences, balls for up to 750 people and concerts or large meetings for audiences of around 1,200, The hall has two 125 amp power supplies available at extra cost.
Access can be from the A46, but the ideal approach is from the A17 which allows a longer build of traffic onto the 20 acre South-Eastern runway where a new internal road provides alternative access enabling multiple events to use the facilities simultaneously. The Newark Showground is only 1.5 miles from the A1 and offers many facilities.
